RESIDENTS enjoying the warm weather may have noticed the sky has looked slightly different over Worcestershire.
The Met Office explained that smoke from wildfires in North America has been carried across the Atlantic by the jet stream, leading to vibrant and unusual colours above us on Sunday (August 18).
While the smoke is at a high enough altitude to not be a threat to our health, it has affected the appearance of the skies across the UK.
During the day, the sky turned pale white, with the sun looking much more hazy through the smoke.
Simon King, lead weather presenter at the BBC, described the sunset as 'eerie'.
After dusk, the moon could be seen with a bright red tint.
More unsettled weather this week is expected to disperse the smoke in the atmosphere.
