A plasterer from Worcester 'nailed it' as he was nominated for Screwfix's 2024 Top Tradesperson award.
Jamie Nokes, owner of Jamie’s Plastering & Renovations, is amongst 27 semi-finalists all vying for the top spot in the national award.
Having more than 18 years’ experience in his trade, Mr Nokes has made a good impression through his commitment to sustainability, high-quality customer service, and encouraging more women to get involved in the trade.

Mr Nokes' approach of ‘do it once, do it properly’ has gained him a distinguished reputation amongst his clientele.
He has also kept busy in training young people in the trade to improve standards, with many of his trainees going on to train others.
Sustainability also features highly on Mr Nokes' agenda, making calculated decisions on the products he uses and the amount required to ensure waste is kept to a minimum.
Mr Nokes will now be challenging tradespeople from the UK and the Republic of Ireland for a spot in the finalist list.
If he makes final cut, he will be amongst 10 finalists competing at the Screwfix LIVE event on Friday, September 27 to be crowned the overall champion.
Mr Nokes said: "To receive the call that I’d made it to the semi-finals of the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024 was unbelievable.
"I never thought I’d get this far to be honest.
"Reaching the national final in September would be such a great achievement, especially when you look at the calibre of the other tradespeople I’m up against."
As the national awards celebrate their 15th year, Mr Nokes will hope to get his name in the Screwfix Top Tradesperson Hall of Fame, alongside Devon-based carpenter, Astrid Arnold, the 2023 champion.
Jack Wallace, marketing director at Screwfix, said: "The nation’s tradespeople are often unsung heroes, working tirelessly day in and day out with the upmost passion and dedication.
"Our long-running national award aims to shine a light on the very best of them, recognising the outstanding work tradespeople deliver and the impact they have within their communities.
"I wish them all the very best of luck as they look to gain a place in September’s national final."
