TRAINS were delayed and cancelled as a result of a trespasser on the line near a city railway station.
The incident happened on tracks near Worcester Foregate Street at around 9.15am on Friday.
A person was spotted standing on the railway tracks near Worcester Foregate Street station.
All trains in the area were brought to a halt, resulting in services being delayed, diverted or cancelled.
The person remained on or near the railway for around an hour but was confirmed clear of the line by 10.30am when services began to return to normal.
A West Midlands Railway spokesperson said: “Due to a trespasser on the railway tracks at Worcester Foregate Street on Friday morning, services were subject to delays, diversions and cancellations.
“The trespasser is now clear of the railway and services are returning to normal. Anyone delayed by 15 minutes or more as a result of this incident can claim compensation via the Delay Repay scheme.”
