VANDALS smashed windows and trashed a garden at a city primary school.
But the principal at Oasis Academy Warndon said she is proud of the community's response after the damage was discovered.
Staff at the school were shocked to find that windows had been smashed and the reception garden had been vandalised when they entered the premises on Sunday (August 11).
Oasis Academy Warndon's principal, Suzanne Owen, said: "The academy are grateful to everybody who has been in touch since the recent vandalism at Oasis Academy Warndon.
"We are proud of our school community who have responded with such kindness and support.
"We hope that this is a one-off occurrence and whilst we’d ask people to stay vigilant, we wouldn’t want people to unduly worry.
"The damage is being repaired and we are already looking forward to welcoming back students and staff at the start of the next school year."
West Mercia Police said they received a report regarding criminal damage to the school at approximately 5.30pm on Sunday evening (August 11).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police are investigating this incident and appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything or has any information to contact the Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team at warndon.snt@westmercia.police.uk."
