Fresh from the Olympic Games in Paris, gold medallist Matt Richards was spotted enjoying a meal in a village pub.
Richards took photos with staff in The Swan at Martin Hussingtree near Worcester after enjoying a family meal on Saturday evening (August 10).
The Swan's manager, Maisey Prue, revealed she went to school with the 21-year-old Olympian - attending both St Peter's Droitwich and Droitwich Spa High School.
Miss Prue said: "It's brilliant to think that someone I went to school with has achieved something this big.
"He was absolutely lovely too - one of the most down to earth people I've met, and you could ask him anything."
Richards received a hero's welcome earlier on Saturday (August 10) as hundreds of neighbours and fans greeted him near his family home in Droitwich.
Miss Prue added: "He was telling us how welcoming everyone had been when he arrived home.
