Garden enthusiasts can expect a range of features and activities at the Malvern Autumn Show, taking place September 27 to 29.

Hosted at Three Counties Showground, the event will feature flower displays, shopping, talks from horticultural experts, and even a showcase of enormous vegetables.

The CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship, a source of Guinness World Records, will challenge growers in categories including heaviest pumpkin, heaviest cantaloupe melon, longest runner bean, and biggest chilli pepper.

There will be 31 adult classes in total, with prize money for winners.

Grow to Show classes in the Harvest Pavilion will see amateur growers competing to garner awards for quality fruit, flowers, and vegetables.

The RHS Flower Show in the Floral Marquee will be attended by more than 40 specialist nurseries and growers, and feature floral displays, expert gardening advice, and top-quality plants for sale.

Floral art enthusiasts will appreciate a competition organised by The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS), with competitors exhibiting displays informed by the theme of 'Razzamatazz.'

Suppliers will offer their wares in the Plant Village and Bulb Market, with names including Petrichor Bulb Specialists, Hillyards of Oundle, HW Hyde and Son, and Pheasant Acre Nurseries.

Malvern Salvia Collection, a specialist grower with a passion for salvias, will also be exhibiting.

Rob Edwards of Malvern Salvia Collection said: "There are more than 1,000 different varieties of salvia.

“They like a sunny spot with free-draining soil and do well in pots if the garden tends to be on the wetter side.

"As well as coping with cooler temperatures, they are drought tolerant too."

A free plant crèche and porter service will make it easy to store pots while exploring the rest of the show, before returning to collect them at the end of the day.

The Garden Theatre, hosted by BBC Radio 2 and Escape to the Country presenter, Nicki Chapman, will feature celebrity gardening experts such as Adam Frost, Rachel De Thame, and Arit Anderson.

Tickets for the Malvern Autumn Show 2024 cost £20, with free entry for children under 16.
