A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash on a busy road on the outskirts of Worcester.
The incident happened between a car and a motorcycle on the A4133 outside the Holt Fleet Hotel in Holt Heath yesterday (August 7) afternoon.
An air ambulance was called to the scene as well as two ambulances, however, despite paramedics' best efforts the motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance service said: "A man has died following a collision involving a motorbike and a car yesterday afternoon.
"West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident outside the Holt Fleet Hotel, Holt Heath, Worcester at 4.45pm.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham was sent to the scene.
“On arrival crews discovered two patients.
"A man, who was the motorcyclist, was found to be in a critical condition and already receiving medical attention from an off-duty paramedic and off-duty nurse.
"Ambulance crews immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
"A woman, who was the driver of the car, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment."
The collision resulted in the road being closed for several hours.
West Mercia Police has asked for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Holt Heath yesterday evening.
"The collision, involving a grey Yamaha motorcycle and red Dacia 4x4, happened at around 4.40pm on the A4133 outside of the Holt Fleet pub.
"Emergency services attended however, unfortunately, the rider of the motorcycle – a man in his 60s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of the incident."
One crew from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and made both vehicles safe.
