A WOMAN suffered a potentially serious injury and needed rescuing from an unstable surface on the River Teme's riverbank. 

Ambulance staff were called to the River Teme in Bransford at 2.51pm on Saturday, August 3 following reports of a patient who had been injured on a riverbank. 

HART paramedics, a paramedic officer and an ambulance attended the scene, where they found the woman had sustained a potentially serious injury. 

Around 50 minutes later, a fire crew from Malvern Fire Station, including their water first responders, plus the boat crew from Worcester were called to rescue the woman from an unstable service.

Paramedics and the fire crew used specialist equipment to reach and take the woman from the riverbank.

She was then left in the care of paramedics and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further care.
