Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust have appointed two new board members.

The trust is set to benefit from the expertise of two new non-executive directors.

Dr Catherine Driscoll, a strategic transformation advocate in the public sector, and Alex Moran, a healthcare executive with vast experience, are set to bring their wealth of experience to the board.

For over three decades, Dr Driscoll has held a number of senior roles across Worcestershire.

Her career spans across health, social care, and community services.

Dr Driscoll has worked in roles such as chief executive of Worcestershire Children First, director of children’s services at Worcestershire County Council, and held previous roles such as the director of children, families and communities and assistant director of adult social care.

She currently works as a consultant having recently retired from her role as director of children’s services for Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Mr Moran hails from Worcestershire and has connections to the trust.

His journey with the organisation began at birth, at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

Today, he is the chief executive officer of Ilarna, a health tech home care business.

Before this role, Mr Moran held a commercial leadership role at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and has served as a senior executive in healthcare.

Russell Hardy, chair of the trust, said: "Catherine and Alex join us at an exciting and challenging time.

"I have no doubt that the wide-ranging skills, knowledge, experience and commitment to public service they bring will make an invaluable contribution to helping us build on that progress for the benefit of our patients, our staff and our partners across the Foundation Group and in the local health and care system."

Mr Hardy added: "They will have a key role to play in helping us ensure that our services are planned, developed and delivered in a way which best meets the needs and wishes of everyone in the diverse communities we serve, and every colleague in the diverse workforce that we employ."

Having started on Thursday (August 1), Dr Driscoll and Mr Moran's appointments are slated to remain in effect for 12 months.
