A CAR flipped onto its roof during a dramatic crash which closed a major city road although the driver escaped with only 'minor injuries'.
The grey Vauxhall Corsa overturned on London Road in Worcester as the road was closed in both directions after the crash at around 11am today (Friday).
However, a full closure was lifted around noon and officers directed traffic, allowing traffic to move with the car still on its roof on the carriageway.
The incident caused delays for drivers trying to navigate the road, one of the major arterial routes in the city. Cones were placed around the car which was partially on the road and partially across the pavement. A Peugeot 208 had also suffered rear end damage and had suffered a flat tyre.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called just after 11am to a single vehicle collision, where a car had overturned on London Road.
"The driver sustained minor injuries. The road was partially blocked but closures were lifted at around midday.
"In the last 15 minutes, we have has some reports of a second low speed collision involving two vehicles, in the vicinity of the road closure however. This is at the junction of London Road with Wylds Lane."

The incident caused traffic to back up in both directions, leading to tailbacks along London Road.
Traffic coming from the city centre was diverted into Wylds Lane while traffic joining London Road from Wylds Lane was directed towards the city.
A police car on blue lights was also parked across the carriageway in London Road, near the Tesco shop and petrol station.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.07am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a stationary car on London Road, Worcester.
"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival we found two patients from the cars. Both of whom did not require further treatment from ambulance staff and received self care advice before being discharged at the scene.”
