University of Worcester
The University of Worcester is pleased to once again be sponsoring the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards, recognising the commitment and dedication of the many professionals working tirelessly in our health and social care services.
As a leading educator of health professionals, from Nurses and Midwives, to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics, each year, approaching 1,000 health professionals graduate from Worcester and go on to make a significant contribution to the NHS and society.
In September last year, the University welcomed its first cohorts of both Medical and Diagnostic Radiography students who in the coming years, will join this growing community of professionals.
The University works in close collaboration with employers, including the NHS, West Midlands Ambulance Service, County Councils and a range of voluntary and private sector employers across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and the Black Country, recognising that strong relationships produce better outcomes for our students and more importantly, better outcomes for the public our students are caring for.
Worcester graduates are among the most employable in the Country – currently number one in the country for sustained employment and/or further study 5 years after graduation, according to the 2024 government-published Longitudinal Educational Outcomes data (excluding specialist institutions). The University is also ranked top in the UK for Quality Education in the prestigious Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings and is shortlisted for University of the Year in the UK Social Mobility Awards 2024 – for the third time.
