Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is encouraging Worcestershire residents to take part in a walking challenge next month.

The charity is asking residents to walk 12,000 steps daily throughout September to raise funds for their crucial services.

The virtual Walk4Life Challenge runs from September 1 to 30, allowing participants to complete their walks anywhere, anytime.

Money raised from the challenge will directly support the rapid delivery of critical care by specialist clinicians with advanced equipment and lifesaving medication at incident scenes.

The charity itself attends on average 12 missions a day, making community support vital for its operations.

Those looking to participate will need to register online through Facebook and monitor their daily steps.

Individuals raising £40 or more will receive a free supporter t-shirt from the charity.

Additionally, a Facebook community group has been set up for participants to connect, share progress, and encourage each other.

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "We are incredibly thankful for the unwavering support from our communities who help keep our lifesaving service operational.

"By joining the Walk4Life Challenge, you are playing a crucial role in our emergency response efforts and lifesaving missions.

"Every step you take and every pound you raise makes a substantial difference."

To register for the challenge, interested parties can search for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity on Facebook and click on the events tab, or can visit the registration page online.
