A 29-year-old driver has been hit with a large court fine after getting behind the wheel without insurance.
James Rogers of Dilmore Avenue, Fernhill Heath, near Worcester was behind the wheel of a BMW series 135i on the A38 at Wychbold, near Droitwich without third party insurance.
Rogers was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £264 and costs of £90 during the hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 26.
The offence happened on January 11 with the case against Rogers proved via the single justice procedure on the day of the hearing in July.
A collection order was made, giving the court extra powers to recover the money. His driving record was also endorsed with six points. No separate penalty was imposed for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on the same date.
