Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s Walk4Life Challenge is returning this September.
Worcestershire residents are encouraged to walk 12,000 steps a day for the entire month to raise vital lifesaving funds.
The event will be virtual, running from September 1 to 30, enabling participants to walk at any time and location.
Money raised from the 12,000-steps-a-day challenge will directly support the charity’s missions.
This includes the fast delivery of key care by expert clinicians using top-end equipment and lifesaving medicines at the scene of an incident.
Serving communities in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands, and Worcestershire, which represent over six million population, Midlands Air Ambulance attends an average of 12 missions daily.
The charity, one of the UK's longest-established and busiest air ambulance operators, handling approximately 4,300 missions annually, makes community backing essential to maintaining these operations.
People can sign up for the Walk4Life Challenge by registering online via Facebook and tracking their step count throughout September.
Supporters who amass £40 or more in sponsorships will get a complimentary Midlands Air Ambulance Charity supporter t-shirt as a mark of gratitude.
The charity's Facebook online community group offers participants a platform to interact with their fellow challengers, exchange progress updates, and encourage each other.
Every step taken plays a significant role in Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's continuing provision of excellent care for those in need.
Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "We are incredibly thankful for the unwavering support from our communities who help keep our lifesaving service operational.
