POLICE have arrested two people on suspicion of drug dealing and seized around £100,000 in cash and assets as detectives 'dismantle' drugs gangs seeking to ply their trade in the city.
Two arrests were made as officers visited three separate addresses in Worcester, Martin Hussingtree and Pershore during an operation on Tuesday (July 30).
The two arrests of a man and woman, one in Worcester and the other in Martin Hussingtree, were made on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of criminal property, often referred to as 'money laundering'.
In total around £60,000 in cash was seized across the three addresses but also a number of high value watches, including Rolex and Omega which can be worth as much as £5,000 each.
The estimated combined value of the cash and the assets such as the watches has been placed at £100,000 although some of the notes are understood to be counterfeit.
DS Kris Stevens of Proactive CID, based at Worcester Police Station, said the two people arrested had been bailed but investigations were 'complex' and still underway.
"Further enquiries are continuing. This looks like it was a well-organised and established operation. This goes some way to dismantling the drugs line," said DS Stevens.
A quantity of drugs, both class A and B, were also seized and a number of mobile phones which will need to be interrogated and forensically analysed.

Some of the warrants were said to be dynamic which is where officers force entry.
Arrests were made and searches conducted as part of joint work between Proactive CID team detectives and the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team, a team set up last July to target the crimes and offences which matter most to the communities they serve.
DI Dave Knight of Proactive CID said: "It's another example of multiple police teams coming together to dismantle and disrupt County Lines drugs gangs and our plea to the public is to keep telling us where they believe drug activity is taking place. We will respond, using our own information gathering techniques to determine where the highest risk lies."
