The Worcester Show will offer music, dancing and much more when the community event returns next weekend.

Taking place on Sunday, August 11, at Pitchcroft, the day will be filled with a variety of acts and band genres across the main and Worcester Mela stages.

Donato Esposito of the Friends of Worcester Show, said: "Every year we have a host of bands and musical performers who provide entertainment for everybody during the day.

"There will be songs you know and some you might not, from a range of local performers.

"We are delighted to welcome back Worcester Mela who will bring bright colours and cultural sounds to their own stage and marquee.

"We want everybody in Worcester to come down and enjoy a day of music and dancing."

The main stage will feature performances from the Marrs Bar House Band, a group known for supporting and promoting Worcester's up-and-coming musical talents.

They will take to the main stage along with invited acts and "some of the best junior artists around".

Crowd favourites Secret Cabaret are set to return and newcomers, The Other Covers, will bring a fresh spin to much-loved favourites.

Another act for visitors to look forward to is Capas, known for their brass-electro fusion style music.

The Dhol Crew will also hit the stage, demonstrating the art of the Dhol drum with both traditional and contemporary music as the show offers "a good sprinkling of the variety and the diversity our city has to offer".

Meanwhile, Worcester Mela stage is set to host a number of singers and bands, including Awantika, The Melting Pot, Jin & Seetal and Tariq Saher.

The Mela marquee will accommodate workshops for attendees to learn dancing, cooking and drumming, while there will also be a range of activities for families including sports and kids’ zones, village games and tug of war.

Entry to The Worcester Show, which organisers say "celebrates everything great about the community in our city", will cost £2 per adult, with under-16s going free.

For the quickest entry on the day, tickets can be purchased now from the show's website.
