A park bench has been removed following a complaint regarding cannabis being smoked in the area.
St Peter's Parish Council removed the bench on Thursday (July 25) from the path between Grasshopper Park and Farne Avenue, following a complaint from a resident about cannabis smoke.
Vice-chairman of St Peter's Parish Council, councillor Alan Tidy, said: "We were told that people were smoking cannabis on the bench for a number of weeks.
"The resident said the smell was particularly pungent, particularly when it is warmer.
"It's a shame, as it was a legitimately well-used bench by the community."
