COMMUTERS across Worcester are set to be impacted by several road closures over the next few weeks. 

Worcestershire County Council's Highways and Travel department has revealed how many roads will be closed over the next 14 days. 

Many road closures are currently in place, while many more are scheduled as we move into August. 

Current closures

One major road closure continues to cause delays to commuters trying to drive in and around the area.

Old Road has been closed since February 6 and will remain unavailable to drive down until 7pm on September 30 due to an unsafe bridge.

Norton Road has been closed since July 21 and won't be open again until September 27 at 5pm.

This closure is part of the Bath Road toucan crossing scheme and is so highways can realign the carriageway and footway and install dropped crossing points.

Moving across the city Hillery Road will remain closed until around 4.30pm on August 15 to reconstruct the footway.

Reservoir Lane has been closed since Valentine's Day because of a collapsed private wall, and won't re-open until midday on August 19. 

Waterworks Road was closed on Thursday, July 25 and will remain closed until around 4.30pm on Monday, July 29 to install a dropped vehicle crossing. 

Four roads to be closed by Cadent

Three roads near to one another in and around Perdiswell will be closed over the next few weeks so Cadent can replace old gas pipes with new plastic ones. 

Drivers won't be able to go up Beech Avenue until midnight on Friday, August 2, while Beech Avenue North is set to close on Monday, August 5 and will remain closed until August 16.

And Bilford Road closed on Monday, July 22 and won't open until August 17 for the same reason. 

Orchard Street will also be closed by Cadent for roadworks between Monday, August 5 and Thursday, August 8. 

Upcoming closures 

Wylds Lane will be shut to drivers between Monday, August 5 and 4pm on August 16 to allow for kerb realignment, installing carriageway markings and laying high-friction surfacing. 

The High Street will be closed between 6pm on Thursday, August 1 and 5am on Friday, August 2 for the replacement of a second-floor window. 

Worcester High Street will be closed overnight

Canterbury Road will shut on Monday, August 5 and won't re-open until 5pm on August 30, with carriageway resurfacing taking place for two days within these dates. 

There will be an overnight road closure on Newtown Road between 9pm on August 8 and 6am on August 9 to renew the Hydrant in the carriageway. 

And Pump Street will close on Sunday, August 4 to lay a new domestic gas service.
