A CITY-BASED charity is gearing up to take part in the 10th Worcester City Runs.
ONSIDE, based in Charles Street, will be involved across the weekend of September 14 and 15.
The charity has 40 places available for people to represent Team ONSIDE.
The runs start on Croft Road and winds its way through the city, passing the Elgar Statue, Worcester Cathedral and over and alongside the River Severn.
ONSIDE’s interim deputy CEO Ruth Heywood said: “We are so excited to be involved and have 40 entrant spaces across the Worcester City 10K, Half Marathon and Junior Run on Sunday, September 15.
“If you are planning to run, we would be honoured if you could join us and help raise vital funds for ONSIDE.
“We will make sure you have the best cheer squad on the course too!’ People can register for a place by visiting ONSIDE’s website and completing a form to show interest. The sign-up fee starts at £25 and once registered ONSIDE will send further details to confirm the place.
People have until Friday, August 23 to register their interest.
Ruth continued: “By joining Team ONSIDE for the Worcester City Runs you will not only be taking on a personal challenge but also contributing to the belief which is at the root of many services we provide — that physical activity is so good for our own mental health and wellbeing.
“It’s also an amazing opportunity to experience the camaraderie and collective energy of running for a great cause.”
ONSIDE works across Worcestershire and Herefordshire, providing a wide range of support services to ensure fairness and equality for all members of the community who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged or discriminated against.
The charity supported more than 11,000 people in the 2022-23 year.
