A care home resident in Droitwich had a dream come true moment when he returned to the golf club he won the Jubilee Cup 20 years ago.
Brian Lawrence, a former Military Police serviceman who took up golf during his time in service, joined the Droitwich Golf Club in 1977, actively participating in several tournaments, one of which was the Jubilee Cup every year.
The 86-year-old who lives at Woodland View care home was also surprised with the same trophy he had won in 2004 by club captain Iain Milroy so that he could hold it again and take a picture.
He said: "It was wonderful to go back there and meet members I hadn’t seen for the last 15 years.
"I will always remember my days there."
Recognising his fond memories of his golfing years, Lisa Dews, the home manager at Woodland View, coordinated a special visit to the club.
Mr Lawrence watched golfers compete in the Shirley Jones Tournament while he was treated to a delicious breakfast on the terrace during the trip.
He also got to meet with old friends and recollect their shared golfing experiences.
Ms Dews said: "After hearing Brian’s fantastic stories of his golfing days and how he wished he could return to Droitwich Golf Club, we knew our friends at the club would help us make the visit one to remember.
"It was an honour to be able to make Brian’s dream come true, and with the support of our local community, we look forward to granting our next wish."
Mr Milroy said: "It was a pleasure to have former member, legend and past trophy winner Brian Lawrence at the club today.
"Brian won many trophies including the 2004 Jubilee Cup. Brian is fondly remembered and will be welcome at the club anytime."
Woodland View accommodates regular visitors over 65 in the area at their Over 65’s Classic Cinema Club every Thursday at 11am.
This summer, the home is offering four weeks of respite care for the price of three in July and August.
