The NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Board is offering up to £10,000 in funding for innovative ideas to improve health care provision in the two counties.

The initiative invites individuals, groups, or organisations to propose projects, processes, products or pathways for improving patient experiences.

Proposals will be measured against key criteria including potential for positive outcomes, feasibility, value for money, and long term sustainability.

The selected projects will receive funding for a one-off venture to be fulfilled within 6 months of being awarded.

Proposals are welcomed for any amount up to the full available sum of £10,000.

The funding is provided by the Dr Carl Ellson Clinical Innovation Fund (CECIF), a charitable foundation established in memory of a much-admired GP, health leader, and innovator who passed away in 2022.

Adrian Giles, chair of CECIF, said: "This money is being made available for someone to realise their dreams and share their skills for innovation, while finding new ways of working.

"Carl spent his life working tirelessly to transform healthcare in Worcestershire, promoting new innovative ideas and inspiring many young clinicians to ensure patients received the best possible care.

"This fund is our way of ensuring that Carl's legacy lives on."

The final date for submissions is September 6, 2024.
