A FAST food chain has finally reopened its Worcestershire restaurant after a month-long closure.
Wychbold Mcdonalds on Worcester Road welcomed customers back through its doors to see its "one of a first" in Worcestershire design layouts.
The restaurant opened on Thursday, July 18 and introduced Mcdonald's ‘Convenience of the Future’ design, which aims to incorporate restaurant layout with the latest technology.
The traditional walk-in and Drive-Thru have remained the same, but McDonald’s kitchens and dining areas have been redesigned.
It integrates digital sales channels and the McDonald’s App better and uses internal space to enhance the dine-in experience.
The removal of the store's front counter has provided dedicated areas for different ways to order and a less congested counter.
It also hoped it would create shorter queues.
The increase in space also aims to give customers more space to have their meals.
Andy Critcher, who owns and operates the Droitwich McDonald’s restaurant, said: “I’m proud to reinvest in our Droitwich restaurant – especially as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK this year.
"It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel, and I’m confident the changes, including a more contemporary dining area, will not only benefit our customers but also our staff.”
Improvements have also been made for the restaurant crew, such as redesigning the crew room, to create a more relaxing and comfortable space for them to take a break.
A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "Owned and operated by local franchisee Andy Critcher, the Droitwich restaurant is one of the first in Worcestershire to undergo a ‘Convenience of the Future’ redesign.
"With consumers increasingly looking for greater speed, efficiency, and choice when ordering their food, McDonald’s ambitious ‘Convenience of the Future’ restaurant revamp programme will combine a new restaurant layout with the latest technology to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers."
