A PRIMARY school in St John's has received its fifth 'Outstanding' Ofsted report in succession.
Perryfields Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) received the news earlier this week following an ungraded Ofsted inspection on June 25 and 26. Ungraded inspections are carried out on institutions which have previously been graded 'Good' or 'Outstanding', to ensure they remain at the same level.
Perryfields Primary PRU's headteacher Pete Hines, who received on OBE in 2023's New Years Honours list for his services to education, said: "I am delighted with the most recent report as it truly recognises the fantastic teamwork of the staff and the role they play in re-engaging pupils in education and turning around their lives.
"We believe we're one of the first schools in the country to be rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted five times in a row."
The school supports more than 500 children from South Worcestershire each year, with a focus on those that are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream schools through behavioural issues.

Perryfields Primary PRU's Ofsted report outlines that many children do successfully transfer back to mainstream settings as a result of the school's efforts.
Ofsted's report says: "The school never loses sight of its core purpose to support and nurture pupils so they can return to their mainstream setting, or if required, a more specialist provision.
"The high number of pupils who successfully transfer back into their home school is proof that the school achieves this goal."
Alongside children with behavioural issues, the Ofsted report outlines that a portion of Perryfields Primary PRU's intake are children with undiagnosed special educational needs.
The report adds: "The school is quick to spot these (cases). Leaders and staff work well with the home school and external agencies so that needs can be identified accurately and appropriate support can be put into place."
The school is also part of the DfE Behaviour Hubs programme which comprises a pool of schools across the country and helps improve behaviour culture and develop inclusive practices.
Prior to this latest Ofsted report, Perryfields Primary PRU received 'Outstanding' ratings in 2019, 2014, 2010, and 2007.
