A MAN has been left with life-threatening injuries after being trapped under a lift at a Worcester Aldi.
Ambulance crews found the man, who is in his 20s, in critical condition at the Aldi store on Pheasant Street, Lowesmoor last night (Tuesday, July 16).
Fire crews were first on the scene, and rescued the man from underneath the lift before leaving him in the care of the ambulance crews.
Aldi was closed and a police cordon was put in place, with police remaining on the scene throughout the evening.
Life support and trauma care were given to the man at the scene before he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Ambulance staff were called to the store at 5.39pm, where they sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Eyewitnesses described an air ambulance landing at Worcester Racecourse at around 6pm with a police car transporting paramedics.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Upon arrival, we found a man in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
"Ambulance staff administered advanced life support and advanced trauma care to him at the scene which continued en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was conveyed by land ambulance.”
