LOOK around the newly refurbished convenience store in Worcester which has finally reopened after a major makeover.
Ombersley Road Co-op has finally reopened after a seven-week closure, which saw it undergo necessary improvements.
A new external self-service laundromat has been added as part of the improvements so residents can wash and dry their clothes onsite.
Children from Sticky Fingers Preschool helped reopen the Ombersley Road Co-op by cutting a white and blue ribbon.
Pictures from the opening show a freshly stocked store, a large fruit and vegetable section, and a selection of wines.
Ann Rudge, Co-op Store Manager, said: “The store has a great new look, completely transformed with a fresh new layout and extended range.
"We are really looking forward to welcoming our members and customers back into their new-look Co-op.
"Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we have worked to develop the range and choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve the community.
"The store also focuses on delivering value, with member price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”
The store is the largest of two Co-op’s on Ombersley Road and serves Costa Coffee Express, an in-store bakery, and hot food.
It also comes with an Amazon Locker, which provides parcel collection services and online home deliveries for groceries, which are available through Just Eat and Uber Eats.
Since May 31, the store has been serving customers through a pop-up shop in its car park.
It sold 250 items from the Co-op's essentials, including bread, newspapers, and milk, and was open seven days a week so residents could get their basic items whenever they wanted.
The store is 6,000 sq ft and supports over 25 local jobs.
The store will open from 7am to 10pm between Monday and Saturday and then from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
