She said: "At this time of year, as school reports go out and we celebrate the academic successes of our children, the Eisteddfod festival gives all the pupils the opportunity to express their creative side in a fun packed festival that all children take part in."

The festival features live and non-live events to ensure accessibility for all.

This year's theme was the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Among the events, Archie Wild, a year five pupil, baked and decorated an Olympic-inspired cake.

He said: "I loved baking and decorating - it was really fun doing it with my Mum."

The day of live events showcased the children's singing, dancing and poetry talents.

Lauren Hall, 12, said: "This is my third Eisteddfod, this year I wrote a poem about the spirit of the Olympics as well as performing a mime act.

"I love it every year and my family are really proud when they come to see me".

The festival not only awarded winners, but also gave out certificates for participation, sportsmanship and spirit,

Jess Dutton, the event organiser and Westacre's music leader, said: "We want to acknowledge both the high standard of performances as well as the confidence and team work it takes to put yourself forward."

Mrs Evans added: "It is an absolute delight to see the enthusiasm and effort the children show throughout the festival.

"As a school, we want to develop and bring out the best in all children across all areas of the curriculum.

"We already have exciting plans for Eisteddfod 2025."
