THE best and worst GP surgeries with a Worcester postcode have been ranked by those who use their services.
The GP Patient Survey 2024 has revealed the city's best and worst practices based on residents' answers.
The independent survey, run by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, was sent to over two million people across the UK and was designed to reflect how people feel about their GP practice and their level of satisfaction with the experience.
It revealed that the top-ranked surgeries in our area for overall satisfaction are Knightwick Surgery on Bromyard Road and Grey Gable Surgery in Inkberrow, which have a rating of 95%.
Knightwick Surgery's overall satisfaction rating has increased by 3% since 2023, and Grey Gable Surgery's has risen by 5% during the same period.
The lowest-ranked surgery is St John's House in Bromyard Road, with a satisfaction rating of 62%, but the surgery as a whole saw a 0.50% increase in its ratings since 2023.
However, the NHS website revealed that the 2024 survey has changed, which means its results are no longer comparable to previous years.
This year's residents received a new style questionnaire and the survey changed its design with the methodology taking an online first approach.
This was hoped to reduce costs and encourage a high proportion of online responses.
Nationally, 73.9% of patients had a good overall experience of their GP practice, which is a figure many Worcester-based practices had surpassed.
