RESIDENTS at a city retirement village got into the summer spirit with a Caribbean-themed event.

Worcester’s Mount Battenhall, Battenhall Avenue, celebrated with a vibrant and memorable occasion, bringing owners and their guests into the Caribbean spirit.

Attendees embraced the theme, wearing colourful floral attire that added to the festive atmosphere.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with refreshing rum and fruit cocktails, setting the tone for an afternoon of tropical enjoyment.

The culinary highlight of the event was an array of Caribbean cuisine, prepared by the village’s own chef.

Adding to the carnival atmosphere, live singer Richie Vee delivered a performance, serenading the crowd with a blend of reggae tunes and nostalgic hits from the 1970s.

In addition to the festivities, the event supported community charities, including Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

Volunteer Clare Stokes attended and helped raise £100 from the generous attendees, showcasing the community’s spirit of giving.

Mount Battenhall Retirement Village remains dedicated to enriching the lives of its owners through engaging events and ongoing support for charitable causes.

Run by Enterprise Retirement Living, it has been on the site of former school St Mary’s Convent since 2021 and is home to 106 private properties.
