Primary school pupils got stuck in at a digger display.
On Tuesday, July 9, pupils from Hindlip C of E First School's red class enjoyed a visit to Britannia Gardens in Worcester, where Worcestershire-based housebuilder Lockley Homes hosted them for the display.
Equipped with high-visibility jackets and hard hats, the children watched the construction team operate two diggers.
The young learners had lots of questions about the house-building process as they watched the team work on paving and landscaping in front of the six new homes next to their school in Fernhill Heath.
They attended the digger display alongside their teachers and executive headteacher, Alex Gromski.
After the field trip, each pupil received a certificate and digger colouring pictures from the Lockley Homes team.
The company also handed over a £200 Hobbycraft voucher to the school for more art supplies for the school.
Mr Gromski said: "Red Class have been learning about how houses are built, and since Lockley started construction next door, we knew a trip to see the diggers had to be on the cards.
"The children had a wonderful time and were thrilled with their new high-vis jackets; we look forward to another visit soon and seeing how development is progressing."
Meanwhile, Karl Lockley, director and founder of the housebuilder, said: "We’re very proud of our strong community links in the neighbourhoods in which we build homes.
"It was a real joy to welcome Red Class to Britannia Gardens this week and I was particularly impressed by some of the clever questions asked by the children."
