Worcester has been named the most "stylish" place to live in Worcestershire.

A new survey by online store, Furniturebox, declared the city as the highest-rated location within the county in a rundown of the 60 most stylish places.

The store provides a range of premium furniture, and guarantees next day delivery if the order is placed by 8pm the previous day.

The list put Broadway in second, Malvern third, Ombersley fourth, and Alfrick fifth.

Locations were judged on the beauty of their buildings, scenery, ‘Instagrammability’ of standout features, and popularity as a filming location.

BBC series Father Brown was filmed at Worcester Cathedral as recently as June this year.

To create the list Furniturebox surveyed 5,000 people in each big city and county, including Worcestershire.

The store's spokesperson said: "Worcester is the most stylish place to live in Worcestershire.

"All 60 places on the list would have been worthy winners and show why the UK is such a stylish country, loved by artists, film-makers, and tourists from all over the world."

The spokesperson added: "What is interesting is how influential Instagram has become in boosting tourism in many of our top 60, particularly around Worcestershire.

"It is a massive help for visitor numbers, too, if a popular film or TV show uses a town or village as a location.

“Most of the locations in the top 60 are not the most affluent or fashionable in their localities.

"It shows that style can be achieved whatever your budget - and that is very true of furniture.”
