A FOOD festival has been hailed a success after people turned out to enjoy it despite rainy weather.

Hundreds attended the Great Malvern Food Festival to taste food and listen to live music across two days on Saturday and Sunday (July 6-7).

The event happened at Priory Park and was a lot of fun according to one visitor.

Along with hot food stalls, a market and live music, visitors could also view the 'cookery demonstration theatre' to be inspired to make the same dishes at home.

The event was free to enter and despite the drizzling weather on Sunday (July 7), crowds still turned out and made the best of it.

Julia Wylie and Rob Haywood had cycled from Upton to visit the food festival and came prepared and dressed in waterproofs.

Mr Haywood said: "I saw an advertisement a couple of days ago and we thought it would be a good idea to cycle here.

"We have only been in the area for around a year, but the ride was nice and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves even if the weather isn't the best.

"We haven't been here long but we have enjoyed the cider and the market looked interesting.

"We could have stayed home since we have a big garden but it's good to see so many people out and about and to go outside our bubble."

The festival had 30 food stalls in the market and eight hot food stalls at the bottom of the park.

Toni Franck, from Styan Family Produce, enjoyed the music so much that the stall gave the musicians a box of vegetables and said that the atmosphere and business had been amazing throughout the weekend.

This was the 14th Great Malvern Food Festival and it was free to enter.

Anthony and Eva Hall took refuge under a tree as the weather started to turn.

Mr Hall said: "We came down because we wanted to try the local produce and enjoy the atmosphere on a wet Sunday.

"It has been good fun and the local produce has been great.

"There are lots of friendly dogs and the atmosphere is wonderful."
