Worcester Carnival organisers still expect significant numbers at this Saturday's parade despite a clash with the England match.
The carnival returns on Saturday (July 6) with the popular parade scheduled to begin at 3pm and finish by 5pm - the same time as England v Switzerland kicks-off.
The clash with the end of the parade and the start of the quarter-final of the Euros could mean dwindling numbers at the parade.
But Adam Bullock, secretary for Worcester Carnival, is confident people will have time to enjoy b both the match and the parade which goes through the city centre.
He said: "Based on my experience in previous years, the parade tends to finish a little earlier.
"We say 5pm to give us plenty of safety leeway."
Rolling road closures are expected to be put in place along the parade's city centre route from approximately 2pm.

Mr Bullock said: "Months of planning has gone into the parade and we know thousands of people are excited to be taking part and watching.
"We do still expect significant numbers of crowds who don’t follow football to be watching the latter half of the parade and the free live entertainment afterwards.
Mr Bullock also had some advice for people looking for the best spot t watch the carnival.
He said: "As the parade embarks on its 'return leg' through Deansway, Croft Road would be an ideal spot to enjoy the spectacle from a riverside setting.
"Some areas, like The Cross, get very crowded so you will hopefully get a better view into the bargain too.
"Hopefully Saturday will be a day of double celebration for fans of both football and the carnival."
Starting from Pitchcroft, which will host the event's Carnival Village throughout the day, the parade will take on a circular route through the city centre before returning to its starting point.
The Carnival Village will be a hive of activity from 11am until 7pm, featuring funfair rides and games, craft stalls, plenty of food and drink options, and live musical entertainment.
The carnival ambassadors for 2024 are Ellen Fearnley and Danny Taylor-Edwards while the theme for this year's event is Celebrating Our Heritage.
