Are you looking for a furry friend to welcome into your family? A dog at Dogs Trust Evesham has been looking for their new home for two years.

A nine-year-old German Shepherd crossbreed named Skye is still looking for her forever home.

She is described as being a “funny, friendly girl” and she would like to live in a quiet adult-only home.

When meeting new people, Skye can be shy but after an introduction, even just a short walk with you, you’ll see her “lovely personality” come through.

Skye would like to have a secure garden at her new home so she can enjoy playing off the lead and explore.

She currently takes medication for a historic injury and the team at Dogs Trust Evesham will take to potential adopters about this.

While Skye needs to be the only pet in her new home, she copes well when seeing other dogs out on walks but she isn’t a big fan of them overall.

Despite Skye being an older dog, she is still very playful and loves to chase her ball or pull on her toys.

She has a great history of being in a home and she can be left for longer periods of time when needed.

The team at Dogs Trust Evesham has been helping Skye become more comfortable around cars and she is now able to jump into the boot and spend time in the car.

Chris Slight, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Evesham said: “Skye makes us laugh every day, she is an amazing older lady; a real love bug and a bit of a couch potato! She’s super clever; she’s remained housetrained through her stay with us and knows lots of tricks already including ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘paw’, and ‘wait’. We think she’s a princess and we can’t wait to find her perfect match.

“Hundreds of people a week make the call to give up their dog. Some find homes quickly, but hundreds more must stay in our care for many months because they have complex needs.

“Dogs Trust goes the extra mile for every dog regardless of how long they are in the charity’s care”.
