Shop owners at Pershore's Market Gate have given the thumbs up to plans for a new Aldi.
Wychavon District Council approved the new development on Thursday, June 20, with certain buildings on King George's Way to be demolished.
The Market Gate and Billing House buildings will remain meaning Cafe On The Corner, The Tool Den, Smart Cards, and Bubblicious will continue trading.
The Tool Den's owner Chris Howard, said: "Although the market has closed, The Tool Den is very much open and will remain so.
"Aldi will be a welcome addition to Pershore, and I hope it will increase footfall both for us and for those on the High Street."
Vape store Bubblicious operated inside Pershore Market until its closure at the end of 2023, but now has its own unit. Owners Paul and Cheryl Bullock said: "We were lucky enough to get a shop when the market closed.
"We are grateful to our loyal customers who have supported us, and we hope to gain more new customers once Aldi opens and footfall increases.
"We think Aldi will be good for Pershore and may encourage people to come into town - which can only be a good thing."
