A HISTORIC riverside hotel has appeared on an estate agent's website with a listing for offers in the region of £3.25m.

The 33-bedroom Diglis House Hotel has appeared on RightMove and the website of estate agents Graham and Sibbald.

However, neither the hotel nor the estate agents would confirm the listing or provide any other details about the sale despite being contacted numerous times.

It is believed Diglis House Hotel remains open at this time and is still taking bookings online.

The hotel first appeared on businessesforsale.com over three months ago and has been listed by Graham and Sibbald, based in Birmingham.

The listing advertises the hotel as an "impressive well located historic hotel" with an asking price of over £3 million.

The building is a Grade II listed building and predates the 1600s.

The description reads: "The Diglis Hotel is situated in a prime trading location within the heart of the City of Worcester, yet overlooking the River Severn.

"The historic Grade II listed property, which predates the 1600s was re-built and later extended during Georgian times when it became the home to Edward Leader Williams, the chief engineer to the Severn Navigation Commission.

"It was one of the first Worcester hotels registered as an Inn in the early 1900's and now provides a tasteful blend of charm and character together with contemporary style and décor."

Key information mentioned in the listing includes 33 ensuite letting Bedrooms, a riverside bar and conservatory as well as conference and banqueting facilities for approximately 140 guests.

It also includes: "Fabulous Riverside Gardens + Terraces providing Alfresco Seating for more than 100" and parking for 32 cars.

Located by the River Severn, the hotel offers 33 rooms, a riverside bar, a conservatory restaurant and banqueting facilities for approximately 140 guests.

The building has had several different names but was named The Diglis House Hotel in 1924.

In 2012, a blue plaque was unveiled for Benjamin William Leader, an English landscape artist who had lived in the building.

According to Companies House, the hotel is owned by Julia Seymour.
