HERE are some more notable cases heard in Worcester Magistrates Court last week.
Each defendant had made a guilty plea at the court in Castle Street.
The cases heard on June 14:
David Long, of Chepstow Avenue in Berkeley Beverborne, Worcester, admitted to driving 83mph on a road with a 60mph speed limit.
The 63-year-old has been fined a total of £418 after being caught speeding on the A4440 Crookbarrow Way between Whittington and St Peters.
Long was driving a Mercedes when he was caught by a police officer's hand-held speed camera on June 6, 2023.
He was also suspected of another offence, failing to provide information regarding the driver's identification, but this conviction was withdrawn on January 11.
Long was handed a £306 fine and got four penalty points added to his licence as well as a surcharge of £22 and £90 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The cases heard on June 17:
Dylan Stephens, of Sheepscombe Drive in Worcester, and Matthew Stephens, of Grasmere Drive in Worcester, admitted to resisting or obstructing a police officer from doing their job.
Dylan, 21, and Matthew, 37, willfully obstructed the police officer on October 18, 2022.
The two had obstructed PC Oliver from doing his duty.
The sentences have not been given.
