FOLLOWING more than a year of planning and a multitude of fundraising events, Band Together is hosting its first festival.

People will fill Cripplegate Park in St John's on Saturday (June 29) to enjoy the festival which will benefit Maggs Day Centre and Worcester Street Cafe.

Started by friends Ruth Beard, Laura Todd and Chewie Beard with an aim to create a community-focused event to raise funds and awareness in support of homeless charities, Band Together is a passion project.

"This Saturday's event is going to be one hell of a party." said Mr Beard, who also works as a support worker for Maggs.

"We're so grateful for the support we've received from so many people and it's going to be fantastic to see all the hard work finally pay off. It really reaffirms my faith in humanity."

Featuring an amazing line-up of musical talent, including Killerstream Weekend Anthems, Capas, Kaitlyn Elverson, Ruben Seabright, The Secret Cabaret, Patrilineals, the Hill's Angels and Chewie, Band Together offers a family-friendly experience.

Running from 1pm to 9pm, there will be a fully licensed bars, food and stall vendors, children's activities and a raffle, with some truly amazing prizes, kindly donated by Worcestershire companies, including Hickory's Smokehouse, the Morgan Pub, the Morgan Motor Company, Lakefest, The Roses Theatre and more.
