A couple has thanked the community for their "overwhelming" support after they were reunited with their beloved dog two weeks after she went missing.

Drones and search parties have been tirelessly looking for two-year-old Honey ever since she ran away during a walk in Blakedown on June 8.

Her owners, Harriet Jones and Luke Doran, had been on holiday in Croatia when they were told the cockerpoo had fled after being spooked by another dog.

There had been a few confirmed sightings of the cockerpoo including in Iverley, Stourbridge, but nobody had managed to catch her.

But now, more than two weeks later, Honey has been reunited with her owners after she was spotted in some bushes in Hagley.

Ms Jones, who lives with Mr Doran in Bridgnorth, said: "We were reunited at about 5.30pm on Sunday. I got a call from a couple who live in Hagley to say they think they might have Honey.

"They said two girls on the estate saw a dog dart into the bushes but initially thought nothing of it and assumed it was with its owner. It was only when they walked back past the bush and heard rustling that they decided to have a look.

"They realised the dog was on its own and quickly grabbed her. They saw her tag and thought Honey belonged to someone on the estate. The couple who contacted me rang the number on her collar and Facetimed me so I could confirm it was her.

"It was honestly so overwhelming. Me and Luke just cried tears of pure joy that she had been found."

The couple managed to get over to Hagley within 15 minutes where they were reunited with Honey who is now settling back in at home.

Although she has lost a bit of weight, the vet has checked her over and said she is fit and well.

Ms Jones has now thanked all the charities, residents and drone users, including Drone Search for Lost Dogs Worcestershire, Dog Lost, Drone SAR for Lost Dogs and more, for their help in bringing Honey home.

The 30-year-old said: "She was very hyper when she got home but she is doing really well and eating a lot of chicken and rice. She has been very tired over the past couple of days, but our other dog is very happy that she is home.

"I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped with finding Honey. The charities and local support has just been overwhelming.

"We have had so many lovely messages from all over the area and we are so grateful for the kind response we have received throughout this journey and since Honey came home.

"Honey has been on quite the big adventure but we are so happy to have her back where she belongs. We really couldn't have done this without the help of the community."
