A care home in Brickfields Road has been given permission to install solar panels on its roof.
The seven-bed unit near the junction with Astwood Road is run by Aspirations Care Ltd.
The provider was recently given permission to knock down its current building and replace it with a dormer building.
It has now changed its plans to include five solar panels on the roof and a staff bedroom on the first floor instead of an office.
The facility, which backs onto King George V playing fields, provides 24-hour specialist care for adults with a range of needs.
