A VEHLICE hire company has spoken out after receiving backlash over an event in the city.
Extreme Express Monster Ride Truck has "provided clarity" after audiences were left calling for refunds following a display at Monster Truck Mayhem yesterday (Sunday).
The business, which provided some of its services for the event, said it had hundreds of happy people ride in its trucks.

Disgruntled customers left scathing reviews on the Monster Truck Mayhem Facebook page after a slow start to the event which was due to run between noon and 8pm.
Some had said the only 'mayhem' was the traffic chaos in the city centre and the venue's toilets which ran out of toilet paper.
Al Denny, who attended the show, said: "They had two actual monster trucks, one was used for passenger rides, but that overheated at around 2.45pm, and there was a cloud of smoke or steam billowing from the engine.
A spokesperson for Extreme Express Monster Ride Truck said it is not the event organisers.
"In addition to the ride experience, we also were asked to perform at two different time slots a Monster truck display, driving over cars twice on each occasion," they added.
"We carried out more than what was agreed and went over the cars three times on each occasion.
"In addition to this, the team also carried out a third display, not involving any car crushing but a general display demonstrating the speed and elements of four-wheel steering.
"We fully understand that the ride truck was very popular and queues were long, but we did everything we could do to inform the people in the queue of their estimated wait time.
"The team were amazed at how long people queued up for, and it was uplifting when people told the team members what a great time they had on the ride truck."
It added that live entertainment does not always go to plan and some factors were out of its control, but despite this, it carried out constant safety and technical checks.
"However, all the preparation in the world can be done, and things can still go wrong," they added.
"The main thing is the safety of the public and our team members.
"We hope that the public from the event now has a better understanding of our position."
