Summer events have been saved after the council announced a dramatic U-turn on its proposed bouncy castle ban.
Wyre Forest District Council apologised for the "delay" and "confusion" after emails were sent out to suppliers and those who had upcoming events planned on council land. This included events in Brinton Park and Bewdley Carnival.
The email said inflatables were now prohibited on council land due to insurance companies no longer offering cover to the council for inflatables.
Today (Wednesday, June 19), the council has revealed that it was in the process of tendering for a new insurance provider and is "pleased to report" that it will now be allowing bouncy castles on its land.
A spokesperson for Wyre Forest District Council said: "We were in the process of tendering for a new insurance services provider and reviewing our policies and procedures to make sure that events can take place as safely as possible on our land.
"We do apologise for the delay and any confusion arising from this process, however, we have now worked with our new insurance provider and are pleased to report that we will be allowing bouncy castles on our land.
"We have updated our terms and conditions of hire and will meet with all hirers who book with us to make sure they are fully aware of our requirements."

Dave Griffin, the owner of events hire business Quads 'N' Castles, said he was over the moon to hear that the council had found a new insurance provider and called the move a "step in the right direction".
Mr Griffin, who is also a founding member of homelessness charity HELP, previously raised concerns about the ban with Councillor Fran Oborski labelling the rule "health and safety gone mad".
Mr Griffin said: "The council has seen common sense and I am absolutely over the moon. We have done everything we can as a business to make sure we abide by health and safety and have the right insurance.
"We have always gone above and beyond what is expected of us. I am ecstatic and speechless. I really can't put into words how much this means to us and the community.
"It means I can keep offering children in deprived areas the opportunity to have a fun day out and they won't have to miss out.
"I also want to say a huge thank you to The Shuttle. You really need recognition for the work you do. A lot of real community issues like this would not be brought to light without your help."
