FOUR men are tackling a charity motorbike challenge of around 950 miles in one day.

Matt Sheen, Mark Saxton, Richard Hewitt and Andy Chambers will be embarking on the famous journey from Land’s End, Cornwall, to John o’Groats, Scotland, on Wednesday, June 19.

Droitwich-based Matt said: “We will be riding our motorbikes to raise funds for various local charities.

“I have personally chosen to support the fantastic St Richard’s Hospice.

“This challenge holds great significance as we aim to cover approximately 950 miles in just one day, all while steering clear of the motorway network.

“The route promises us breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences.”

Mark, of Throckmorton, near Pershore, is raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance, Richard, also of Droitwich, for The Howarth Foundation which helps the homeless and Andy, of Hereford, for childhood bereavement charity Winston’s Wish.

Matt is doing the motorbike challenge for the Worcester-based hospice in memory of his sister Sarah Trueman and father John Sheen.

He added: “This charity means a lot to me personally.

“The fantastic hospice cared for both my late sister and my father.

“I can never repay them for the fantastic care that they received.

“We are so very lucky to have a place like St Richard’s in our local community.

“A small donation can mean so much to other families who need the help of St Richard’s and allow them to keep all their fantastic services going.”

Matt’s fundraising page is at www.justgiving.com/page/matthew-sheen-1713379223437 with more than £1,000 already donated.
