A MAN was stabbed outside a city pub as police search for his attacker

The victim was taken to hospital after he was found near the Prince of Wales pub on Windermere Drive at around 9.30pm yesterday (June 16). 

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. 

West Mercia Police detective inspector Mark Davidson, said: “I know this is an alarming incident but I’d like to reassure the local community that we’re doing everything we can to locate the suspect, and that this is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public.”

A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales pub did not wish to comment however did state the incident did not happen inside the pub. 

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to the Prince of Wales pub on Windermere Drive at 9.30pm last night following a report that a person had been stabbed.

"Officers attended and carried out a thorough search of the area but the suspect could not be located. 

"The injuries suffered by the victim are not life-threatening."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had been stabbed on Windermere Drive at 9.31pm on Sunday night, one ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for injuries not believed to be serious, before being taken to hospital."

A witness said they saw three police vans and a police car at around 10.30pm and police had left the scene by 11.30pm.

The car park of the Prince of Wales pub was cordoned off by police. 

The cordon was removed by 9am this morning (Monday). 

A car has been spotted on the grass verge in front of the pub with damage to the front and back, wrapped in police tape, however police have not confirmed whether it is related to the same incident.
