A motorway crash which left two men seriously injured in hospital is now the subject of a police appeal for more information.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened on Friday (June 14) at about 5.50pm on the M5 northbound carriageway, near to junction 7 (Worcester South) when a white Mercedes collided with an HGV lorry.

The two men travelling in the Mercedes were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with critical injuries.

Officers investigating would like to hear from anybody who may have seen the collision or from people with dashcam footage from around the time it happened.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a single car RTC on the northbound M5, near to junction 7, at 5.51pm on Friday night, two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, with a Critical Care Paramedic, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

"On arrival, we discovered two patients, both men, who it quickly become apparent had suffered serious injuries in the incident. They both received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, by land ambulances."
