FIVE men have been arrested after reports of a BB gun being fired. 

West Mercia Police arrested the men after reports of an imitation gun being fired from a car on Saturday, June 15. 

Three men were aged 19 and the other two were 20 years old. 

The group was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. 

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Pierpoint Street in Worcester at around 10.50pm on Saturday night following reports of people firing a BB gun from a car. 

"Officers attended and following a search of the area five men, three aged 19 and two aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. 

"They have all been released on bail while enquiries continue."

An eyewitness said: "The main street was closed by police and there was a big response from West Mercia Police who arrested a suspect.

"I saw three armed police cars and armed police and two police vans full of police and they blocked the road outside the Slug and Lettuce just outside McDonald's.

"The street was filled with blue and red lights from the emergency services."
