A popular annual wake will return with activities for all the family.

The Feckenham Wake, to be held on The Square and Recreation Ground of Feckenham on Saturday, June 22, will kick off at 12.30pm.

The event claims historical roots tracing as far back as the times of knights, with royalties allegedly frequenting the Hunting Lodge in the heart of Feckenham Forest.

A charter award at some point in history sealed the villagers' rights to host an annual celebration.

This custom has since been observed in what is now commonly known as the Feckenham Wake.

This year's event promises plenty of attractions to suit a range of tastes and ages.

Children will have castles to bounce on, the mums and dads can take on a strength challenge, while a Fun Dog Show welcomes four-legged family members.

A Classic Car Show with over 100 displayed vehicles is also on the schedule.

The Arrow Valley Brass Band, All Round Voices Choir, and Feckenham Country Dancers will be performing live, as will a Punch and Judy show.

Thrill seekers can look forward to circus performer Thomas Trilby attempting a unicycle ride while juggling on stilts.

In terms of refreshments, there will be a real ale bar, prosecco bar, cream teas, a hog roast, pizzas, home-made samosas and candy floss.

The event will also feature a pair of massive bouncing kangaroos named Roo'd.

Entrance is free, however there is a small charge for parking.
