HARDWORKING colleagues who had put in a collective 135 years of service at a Worcestershire hospital were celebrated during a special event.
Droitwich Spa Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, held a long service awards ceremony this week celebrating a collective 135 years of service for the hospital.
The staff members involved hold positions across the hospital in various roles from administrators to theatre practitioners, ward nurses to housekeepers, and patient liaison officers to physiotherapists with each of them being fundamental in the day-to-day operation of the hospital and caring for their patients.
The hospital is one of the largest employers in the area and employs 172 members of staff many of whom live in the town of Droitwich Spa, or within Worcestershire.
One of the workers presented with an award started their career at the hospital as a brine pool attendant back in 1989 and now, 35 years later, is still working at the hospital as a materials lead in their stores department.
They held the service at Churchfields Farm in Salwarpe, to support a local business and to give the team an extra treat.
Claire Davenport, executive director at Droitwich Spa Hospital, is very proud of her work force and the support and dedication they show to her, their colleagues, the hospital, and most importantly to their patients.
She said: “We hold events for Long Service Awards twice a year and each time I feel so proud of our employees. We feel it is important to recognize their loyalty and reward them for their commitment to our hospital. Each and every department has a vital role to play, and I thank all of our staff for the years of service they have given to the company.”
Circle Health Group is an award-winning healthcare provider operating Britain’s largest network of independent hospitals.
It supports patients whether they fund their own treatment or are supported by private healthcare insurance, and the group also works in partnership with the NHS. Circle Health Group acquired BMI Healthcare in January 2020.
The group operates independent hospitals, runs integrated care programmes and rehabilitation services, and has an overseas division which operates in Shanghai, China.
