A RIVERSIDE roof terrace at a popular pub is expected to offer some of the best views of a spectacular balloon festival as hot air balloons fill city skies.
The Worcester Balloon Festival is due to take place on Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, at Worcester Racecourse.
The Wheatsheaf Inn in Henwick Road, St John's in Worcester has a terrace looking towards the racecourse and provided a spectacular vantage point for viewing the hot air balloons at the inaugural festival last year. As well as enjoying the events and activities at the racecourse, the pub offers another way to enjoy the festival with its views down towards the River Severn and the Racecourse.
A spokesperson for the pub said: "Join us on our Riverside Terrace and enjoy the sights of hot air balloons filling the skies of Worcester whilst enjoying a refreshing drink in good company.

"This was one of our favourite weekends of 2023 and we are looking forward to bringing the fun whilst watching as Worcester Racecourse provides a scenery of colour and light."
The highlight for most visitors is the dramatic spectacle of the hot air balloons themselves.
However, a variety of other entertainment is also planned during the festival including dog agility, Viking re-enactors, a funfair and a firework display.
The pub is owned by Tony Gibbon and managed by Kieran Corcoran, 23, and 31-year-old Mike Bozward.
