A SECOND day of filming for a popular television show has got underway in a city street.

Film crews were back in St Oswald's Road to film an episode of Father Brown with the street closed for a second day today (Wednesday).

Production vans and trucks were first seen at the racecourse on Sunday (June 9) and more vans can be seen on the road.

The BBC show is currently filming its 12th season about the crime-solving Roman Catholic priest.

At around 10.30am today the crew of at least 50 people were filming a scene between an open gate, with Mark Williams dressed as a priest surrounded by a number of followers.

One follower then placed a pink flower at the corner of the gate.

The beige van was also being unloaded at the time and staff appeared to be getting the van ready to be used in a following scene.

Producers took multiple takes of the scene with production paused for around 30 seconds to allow Mr Williams to finish chewing.

Coats were on hand for some of the actors who were dressed in summery outfits.

A member of the production team was also on either end of the road to allow access for cars that needed to get through.

The show mainly films in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire as it is set in the fictional Cotswold village Kembleford,  but it has been known to film in The Faithful City.

The Guildhall briefly became the Belvedere Museum for an episode in season three and, more recently, Worcester Cathedral starred as itself in the season eight opener.
