ANYONE interested in meditation and Buddhism is invited to an open morning on Saturday.
Worcester Buddhists will be on hand to answer your questions and give tasters in two types of meditation.
Members will also explain why they are practising Buddhists.
Worcester Buddhist Centre chairman Nibbhaya, whose name means free from fear, explained the ethos of Buddhism involves a search for enlightenment.
He said: "Developing a skilful or ethical life means you have a clear conscience and are benefitting yourself and others.
"That means you can develop awareness more easily, often through meditation, awareness of ourselves and others and what we are doing and the choices we make. You see life more clearly.
"As a result, you may realise everything is changing all the time - that changes how we relate to people, situations and things. There is less desire for things to be a certain way.
"That is where freedom comes from".
He added: "This event is open to all, please feel free to attend and bring a friend regardless of experience."
Famous people who have practised Buddhism include Star Wars director George Lucas, pop icon David Bowie and Apple founder Steve Jobs.
The group started in Worcester in 2002 and has about 50 members.
The open morning will take place at the Quaker Friends Meeting House, 1 Sansome Walk from 10am to 12.30pm.
There is no need to book and people can arrive at 9.50am for a 10am start.
